Jim Pickens has been a resident of Volusia County, Florida, for over 30 years. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Georgia, where he double majored in Management and Management Information Systems. Mr. Pickens obtained his Juris Doctor from Barry University and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011.
As a law student, Mr. Pickens was a Judicial Extern for Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano; a Research Assistant to Professor Patrick Tolan; a founding member of the Earth Jurisprudence and Environmental Justice Law Journal; served as an Executive Editor; and was a Certified Legal Intern for the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society. He served as an Assistant State Attorney before joining Kinsey, Vincent, Pyle, P.L. in 2013, where he is now a Partner.
Mr. Pickens is a member of Leadership Daytona Class XXXV; a founding Board Member of the Volusia County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division; and is AV Preeminent® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, which is the highest rating obtainable by an attorney. He is also a member of The Fund® and an authorized signatory for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.
